West Brom striker happy to fight for place after loan snub

West Brom have rejected an offer from Doncaster Rovers to sign Marc-Antoine Fortune on loan. Skysports.com revealed Doncaster's interest in signing Fortune earlier this week after the Frenchman struggled to feature in Roy Hodgson's plans this season. But Baggies boss Hodgson has opted to keep the 30-year-old at the Hawthorns with Irish striker Shane Long currently sidelined for several weeks due to injury. Fortune, who has made just one substitute's appearance in the Premier League this term, has no problems with Hodgson's decision and is happy to fight for his place. "I am a West Bromwich Albion player," he told the Express & Star. "This season has been a little hard for me because there are a lot of people in front of me. "But I am doing my job, working hard in training, and when they call me into the reserves I try to do my best. "I am just waiting for my chance."
