Midfielder links up with former Watford boss Mackay in Wales

Midfielder Don Cowie will be reunited with manager Malky Mackay next season after sealing a move to Cardiff from Watford. The 28-year-old joins the Bluebirds as a free agent on a three-year deal as Mackay continues to rebuild his squad with pre-season training looming. The Scotland international is thrilled to follow Mackay to Wales and hopes to make an impact for his new club. "I was away on holiday in Florida when I heard that Malky had been appointed as the new Cardiff manager," Cowie told the club's official website. "I was obviously disappointed at that stage to hear that he'd be leaving Watford, but I'm absolutely delighted to now be joining him again at Cardiff City. "I had two years at Watford working under Malky so I obviously know very well what he's on about. "He made my time working at Watford very enjoyable so I'm looking forward now to getting started again. "This is a new challenge for me and I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully I can be part of something very special here." Cowie started his career with Ross County before moving to Inverness in 2007 and then joining Watford two years ago.
