Wigan midfielder on Di Matteo's wanted list

Roberto Di Matteo is considering a move to bring Wigan Athletic midfielder Jason Koumas back to West Bromwich Albion. Koumas has struggled for opportunities at Wigan this season and has not featured for Roberto Martinez's side in the Premier League since before Christmas. He previously spent five years with West Brom before leaving for the Latics in 2007 and could now return to The Hawthorns on loan. Having already brought in Frank Nouble since the loan window reopened, Baggies boss Di Matteo is weighing up further recruits to bolster his team's promotion push. "We've been linked with a few players and he is one of the players we are looking at," Di Matteo told the club's official website. "But it depends who we can get as well. It's not just who we want. "The loan market opened on Tuesday. We're in contact with a number of clubs on players we are looking at. "We get requests for our players and you would like them to go on loan, but you can't because of the number of games and players we have available. "The same situation probably applies to everyone else."
