Wigan youngster Luke Ashworth is poised to join Leyton Orient, skysports.com understands.
The 19-year-old has been a regular in the Wigan reserves, but has failed to make the breakthrough into Steve Bruce's first-team plans.
Ashworth spent three months on loan at Orient earlier this season and he impressed during his time at Brisbane Road.
Orient boss Martin Ling has been keeping tabs on Ashworth and is now ready to bring him back to the League One club on a permanent basis.
Wigan are prepared to let Ashworth leave and the defender is believed to be interested in a permanent switch to Orient.
