Player ends frustrating time with loan move back to homeland

Wigan have let Dutch winger Rachid Bouaouzan move to NEC Nijmegen on a one-year loan deal. Bouaouzan is moving on a year after joining the Premier League outfit from Sparta Rotterdam. Signed by Chris Hutchings, the 24-year-old did not make any appearances for the former Wigan boss before he was sacked. He then played only once for current Latics manager Steve Bruce when he came on as a substitute in last week's 4-0 Carling Cup victory over Notts County. Bruce told the club's official website: "I do feel for Rachid, because it has been frustrating for him. I hope he has success back in Holland this season."
