Blackwell adds new faces

Sheffield United have welcomed three new faces to Bramall Lane ahead of the new season. David Cotterill, Matthew Spring and Justin Haber have all agreed deals with the ambitious Blades. Wigan midfielder Cotterill spent three months on loan with the Championship club last season, but has now penned a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The Wales international failed to establish himself in the first-team fold at JJB Stadium but appears to be a key figure in Kevin Blackwell's plans for the 2008/09 campaign.

Commitment

"He's only 20 and a full international. He has shown glimpses of the real potential that enabled Bristol City to sell him (to Wigan) for £2million," said United's coach. "David had set his heart on a move here, is prepared to look for a house in the area and we are showing the same commitment to bring him in." Luton midfielder Spring has joined on a season-long loan deal, joining up with Blackwell for a second time after working under the former Leeds boss during his time at Elland Road. Malta international keeper Haber, formerly of Greek side Haidari, has signed a two-year deal.
