Nigerian striker leaves Wigan for Turkey

Julius Aghahowa has cut short his unsuccessful Wigan Athletic spell after signing a three-year deal with Kayserispor. The Nigeria international made 20 Premier League appearances for the Latics during his 18-month spell without finding the back of the net. The former Shakhtar Donetsk striker has signed for the Turkish outfit and will be officially confirmed as a Kayserispor player on 1st July. Wigan boss Steve Bruce could not fault Aghahowa's efforts to adjust to life in the Premier League but felt it was best if he moved on.

Lovely guy

"Julius is a lovely guy and he tried his best to adjust to life in the Premier League," Bruce told the club's official website. "I never found fault with his attitude or effort in training or when selected. "However, he never really managed to get started while I've been at the club and I think it's best for both parties that he moves on."
