Wigan Athletic defender Andreas Granqvist has stated his interest in joining Dutch side Groningen.
Granqvist has spent the second half of the 2007/08 season on loan at Helsingborg in a bid to boost his chances of forcing his way into Sweden's Euro 2008 squad.
And the 23-year-old, who looks unlikely to return to Wigan, has voiced his keenness to sign for Groningen.
"I know they (Groningen) have come to watch me," Granqvist told Sportbladet.
"It's a good club and Dutch football has improved."
