Wigan boss Steve Bruce has confirmed he is interested in Motherwell forward Ross McCormack.

As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week Wigan are tracking the highly-rated striker and had McCormack watched during Tuesday's Scottish Cup replay with Hearts, where McCormack scored the winner.

The striker is out of contract in the summer and he is currently weighing up his options.

Middlesbrough and Hearts have also expressed an interest in the 21-year-old, while Motherwell are hoping to persuade him to sign a new deal at Fir Park.

Bruce is a big admirer of McCormack and he has admitted he will continue to keep tabs on the former Rangers starlet.

Monitoring

"McCormack is one who is interesting us because he's out of contract in the summer," said Bruce.

"At the moment, we're just having a look at him, monitoring the situation.

"He's one for the future really."
