Wigan boss Paul Jewell feels Leighton Baines is deserving of an England call up, but believes the full back would take the disappointment of being overlooked in his stride.
England chief Steve McClaren will name his squad for the friendly with Holland later on Friday and Baines has been tipped to feature in the party for the trip to Amsterdam.
Jewell feels Baines has done enough to catch the eye of McClaren, but does not expect his form to dip if he is overlooked.
"All Bainesy has got to do is keep playing well for us, and if he continues to do that then the England call up might come," Jewell told Sky Sports News. "If it doesn't, it won't bother Bainesy.
"He will disappointed, but he will continue to do his job.
"He is a level-headed lad who will keep his feet on the floor."
