Wigan Athletic have allowed defender Ryan Taylor to go on holiday in a bid to lift his morale.
The former Tranmere stopper has not played for The Latics since their FA Cup clash with Leeds back in January.
Taylor is currently on the sidelines after suffering a broken leg in a reserve clash against Newcastle earlier this year.
With Taylor's comeback still a few months away, the club have decided to give him a break in a bid to lift his spirits.
"Ryan's had an operation to remove the screws from his leg," explained Jewell.
"He's gone away for a change of scenery. We hope he will be back at his best as soon as possible."
