Skysports.com understand Lee McCulloch has agreed a new deal at Wigan.
The Scottish international has been locked in talks with Wigan for some time and now an accord has been reached.
Wigan boss Paul Jewell is keen to keep the versatile performer at The JJB and is looking to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
McCulloch's representative Mick McGuire has revealed a deal has been agreed in principle and that the player should put pen-to-paper soon.
"A deal between Lee and Wigan has been agreed in principle," McGuire told skysports.com.
"Talks have gone well and I expect everything to be completed in the next few days.
"Lee is very happy at Wigan and is looking forward to the new season."
