Wigan striker Lee McCulloch is still in talks with The Latics regarding a contract extension but hopes to have his future finalised shortly.
McCulloch's representative Mick McGuire confirmed talks between the parties opened midway through last month.
However, McCulloch is yet to sign the deal that is expected to keep him at The JJB until the summer of 2009.
Although talks are moving slowly, McCulloch has revealed things are progressing and he hopes to put pen-to-paper within two weeks.
"I am still talking about the contract," McCulloch told the Daily Express. "Hopefully in the next week or two it will be sorted out."
Meanwhile, McCulloch is excited by The Latics' close season signings, but hopes Paul Jewell continues to splash the cash in the transfer market.
Wigan have already brought in Emile Heskey from Birmingham for a club record fee while Denny Landzaat is primed to join from AZ Alkmaar.
"The gaffer has made some quality signings. Emile Heskey has played for England on the big stage," he added.
"Paul has said he needs to get a few more faces in yet and it will be good if that happens."
