Wigan Athletic are being tipped to sign wantaway Hearts defender Andy Webster.
The Scotland international has taken advantage of a new Fifa ruling to explore a move to another country.
Webster appears primed to head down to England after options to hop over to the continent failed to come to fruition.
Southampton, managed by former Hearts boss George Burley, had been interested in the 24-year-old, who has spent the past five seasons with Hearts.
But the pull of The Premiership is set to lead Webster to sign for Wigan later this week, according to widespread reports.
Latics boss Paul Jewell is hoping to bring in at least two new faces in the coming days, with Holland international Denny Landzaat a confirmed target.
Webster is also understood to be an option, with Wigan believed to be paying £250,000 for the stopper.
The former Arbroath youngster has been edging closer to his exit from Edinburgh in recent months after rejecting a new deal at Tynecastle.
Hearts put Webster on the transfer list, and also reported him to Fifa for failing to turn up for pre-season training, but a resolution to the situation now looks close to being achieved.
