Lee McCulloch believes his Wigan team have got what it takes to qualify for Europe next season, but they have to make sure they get there.
The Latics take on Manchester City at Eastlands on Saturday and McCulloch feels it is important to beat the other teams vying for that European qualification place if they are to reach their goal.
"It's going to be a big run-in to the end of the season," he said.
"I think we're there or thereabouts but we still have got to play teams around us. But it's definitely possible.
"Us players have to set targets, and the manager sets targets for us if we are to reach Europe."
Should Wigan qualify for Europe, then it will not be the first time that McCulloch has embarked on a foreign adventure, having played for previous club Motherwell in the Uefa Cup.
"I played 15 minutes against (Finnish club) MyPa in the Uefa Cup. I was only 17 but I enjoyed every minute of it."
