Wigan striker Lee McCulloch could return for his side's trip to White Hart Lane.
McCulloch has missed the last month of action through injury but is hoping that he will be in the squad for their game with Tottenham at the weekend.
With the Carling Cup final a week later, McCulloch will be aiming to get some vital match practice under his belt to give him the best shot of returning to the starting line-up for the game in Cardiff.
Wigan have been short of strikers over the past few weeks. Not only the absence of the Scot, but have also been without the services of Henri Camara, who has been helping Senegal in the African Cup of Nations, and Jason Roberts who will complete his three-match ban against Spurs.
Paul Jewell now has an array of strikers to choose from with Neil Mellor also returning after missing the game with Liverpool, however Reto Ziegler will be missing as he is unable to play against his permanent employers.
