Wigan have completed the signing of Leicester striker David Connolly.

The Republic of Ireland international has inked a three-year deal at The JJB Stadium.

Wigan boss Paul Jewell has been keen to bring in a new striker after losing Nathan Ellington to West Brom.

Connolly was delighted to be making the move to Wigan and The Premiership.

"The move has come about very quickly but I'm delighted to be in the Premiership at last," Connolly told the club's official website.

Wigan Athletic is a forward thinking and ambitious club, with a great manager.

"When you look at what's been achieved here in such a short space of time it's an incredible story and I'm looking forward to playing my part in the adventure."
