Wigan Athletic have agreed a fee with Rotherham United for keeper Mike Pollitt.Wigan Athletic have agreed a fee with Rotherham United for goalkeeper Mike Pollitt.
The 33-year-old has been a target of Latics boss Paul Jewell, as the Lancashire club embark on their first-ever season in The Premiership.
Pollitt was considered one of the top shot-stoppers in The Championship last season and with The Millers suffering relegation to League One, it was inevitable that the former Sunderland and Chesterfield custodian would move on.
Millmoor boss Mick Harford confirmed that Pollitt was in talks over personal terms with the JJB Stadium outfit.
"They offered a contract and we have agreed a figure and it is now just a matter of Mike going to Wigan and thrashing a deal out," said Harford.
"He has been fantastic to this club, he has a great attitude and he deserves his opportunity to go and play in the Premier League."
