Sky Bet Championship: Fulham boss Kit Symons annoyed by 0-0 draw at Millwall

Kit Symons felt Hugo Rodallega was wrongfully denied a late winner as his Fulham side were held to a 0-0 draw at Millwall.

Both sides were desperate for a win but neither could find the back of the net, Lee Gregory missing the best chance for the hosts in the first half as he somehow fired over from close range after Jimmy Abdou's dangerous cross.

And when Fulham striker Rodallega did have the ball in the back of the net with four minutes left, turning home Kostas Stafylidis' cross at the second time of asking, it was ruled out for offside.

But Fulham manager Symons believed the Colombian was onside, although he was more than happy to take a point away from the Den.

"I'm disappointed not to get the win, but a point in this division is precious so we'll take that," he said.

"It was probably the right result in the end. They had the better possession and pressure in the first half, but I thought we were the ones pushing forward in the second half.

"I've also seen the disallowed goal again, and in my opinion it should have stood, so I'm disappointed not to have nicked it but points are important and we're thankful of the one we've got.

"Hugo is level with the man marking him, and the other defender is a yard deeper so it certainly should have stood but these things happen.

"If the goal did stand it would of capped off a fantastic day - a clean sheet away from home, and if we would have come away with all three points it would have been perfect but it wasn't quite to be.

"But it was a hard-fought performance, and the players showed a lot of endeavour and a lot of effort. I thought we looked very dangerous on the counter attack but just lacked the extra bit of quality which could have got us a couple of goals."

The result means Fulham have now not won any of their last seven games, while Millwall have still not tasted victory in front of their own fans since October, even if Lions boss Ian Holloway felt that run should have finally come to an end.

"I thought we deserved to win," Holloway said. "That's as good as we've been, apart from the goal.

"That's the most crosses we've had in a long time here, but unfortunately we've had 16 efforts at goal and only four on target, so that's what we've got to work on.

"We've kept another cleansheet which helps and I felt all we needed was a goal, it was crying out for that, the fans were waiting for it, and the place was ready to be the Den again.

"But I asked the team to take the game to Fulham and be on the front foot and I thought we were at the start of both halves.

"They looked dangerous on the counter-attack just before half-time but after the break we didn't feel they did and luckily the linesman got his job right because Rodallega was offside."
