Fulham striker Adam Taggart is edging closer to making his debut following an injury-hit start to his Craven Cottage career.

The 21-year-old Australia international, who made two appearances at the Brazil World Cup, moved to Fulham in the summer only to suffer a groin injury in pre-season which required surgery.

But Taggart was back in a Whites shirt this week, getting 25 minutes under his belt as Fulham's under-21s beat West Ham 3-2.

"I'm unbelievably happy to be honest," he told the official website. "It's been the longest time off the field I've had in my career so far, so it was fantastic to get on the pitch and get back to training every day.

"Now it's just about pushing forward and getting the sharpness back to really push for some more game time.

"I've been training hard every day but games are obviously very different so it was good personally to get out there for a run and get used to match situations again."
