Sky Bet Championship: Fulham striker Ross McCormack welcomes fan jibes

Fulham striker Ross McCormack has insisted that he relishes jibes from opposition fans regarding his inflated transfer fee.

The former Leeds hitman joined the Cottagers for £11million in the summer, bringing with it added pressure after costing such an amount at Championship level.

It has not gone to plan so far for the 28-year-old, with the terraces of away grounds revelling in the Scotland international's troubles.

However, after getting off the mark for his new club in the Cottagers' Capital One Cup win at Brentford, McCormack believes that he can be a success, despite opposition fans' best efforts.

"Every ground I have been at this season I have been getting a bit of abuse from the home fans, but that is fine," McCormack told the Fulham Chronicle.

"If you were not a half decent player they would not be bothered about you. I am more than happy to take the stick if I can shut them up at the other end."

McCormack also insisted that while the fee does not hang over his head, he was still surprised such a figure changed hands.

Asked if he could believe the fee, McCormack added: "Not really, no (could he believe the fee).

“But I can’t do anything about that."
