Martin Jol has told his Fulham players they will be in a relegation battle if they fail to pick up points over Christmas.
Jol's side have won just once in 10 games and were way below par during a 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday.
A decent start to the season means the Londoners still have a five-point cushion on the bottom three and on fourth-bottom Southampton - their Boxing Day visitors.
Another home game against Swansea is then followed by a New Year's Day trip to West Brom, and Jol has warned there is an urgent need for results to improve.
He said: "We are in a good position, we have got a good cushion but if we don't pick up the points in the next week or so then we're really in a relegation battle with other teams.
"We wanted that win last week against QPR but I don't think we were good enough.
"Against Liverpool we didn't show our strength and hopefully we can pick up the points not because it is a vital game for us. It is a vital game for them as well."
