Fulham will be without first-choice goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer for up to six weeks with a neck injury, prompting a recall for David Stockdale.
The Australian shot-stopper sustained the knock in the club's 2-0 Premier League defeat to Swansea City on Saturday.
The ex-Middlesbrough man has seen a specialist and it has been determined the 39-year-old will be unavailable for at least a month.
"During the match against Swansea on Saturday 10 December, Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer injured his neck," read a statement on the club's
official website.
"Following an assessment by a specialist consultant on Tuesday evening, the Club can confirm that he has sustained a compression injury to his thoracic spine and that he will be unavailable for four to six weeks, and is expected to return to play towards the end of January."
Recalled
Manager Martin Jol has swiftly enhanced his 'keeping options by recalling Stockdale from Championship club Ipswich Town.
Schwarzer hinted all was not right earlier in the week when he revealed his neck was still sore and he has been left 'devastated' by his enforced absence on the sidelines.
"Thanks for your well wishes, I'm devastated to be out for 4-6 weeks," he wrote on his
Twitter account. "After speaking to the specialist, it was very clear I needed a rest."
