Algeria international looks for a fresh chance to make his mark

Swansea are reportedly in discussions with Fulham about a possible loan deal for defender Rafik Halliche. The 24-year-old joined the West London outfit last year after he impressed in the World Cup for Algeria. Halliche, however, has found his chances at Craven Cottage severely restricted and has made just two appearances for them to date. Brendan Rodgers wants to reinforce his back-line as captain Garry Monk continues to struggle with a foot injury. His defensive options were again limited when Alan Tate broke his leg in a freak accident when his golf buggy crashed. The Swans have also seen a bid of £1million for Middlesbrough's Matthew Bates rejected as they continue their hunt for defensive recruits.
