Dutch youngster returns home to rebuild his career

Fortuna Sittard have confirmed Danny Hoesen has returned to the club on loan from Fulham. The Premier League club signed the talented striker in 2007 shortly after he had made his debut for the Dutch outfit. However, he was unable to force his way into the first team at Craven Cottage and was subsequently farmed out to Finnish side HJK Helsinki to further his development. Injuries prevented him from making a real impact while in Finland and he was forced to return to Fulham for treatment. Towards the end of last season, he was named in the squad that faced Sunderland but is still to make a first-team appearance for the West London club. Fortuna Sittard now play in the Jupiler League, one below the Eredivisie, and have a young squad with a sprinkling of experienced professionals. Hoesen's deal with Fulham runs until 2013 and he will be keen to impress while on loan at his old club to earn a new deal under Martin Jol.
