Nurnberg claim interest from Cottagers

Fulham have joined the race to sign Angelos Charisteas, according to Nurnberg's general manager. The Greek striker has been linked with a move away from Nurnberg after a disappointing first half to the season. He has scored just once in Bundesliga Zwei this term but a number of clubs are understood to be interested in securing his services. West Brom are believed to be monitoring his situation and Fulham now appear to be competing for his signature. "We have had several talks about Harry (Charisteas). They want him," Nurnberg general manager Martin Bader told Bild. Reports suggest that Fulham would be keen to sign Charisteas on loan for the rest of the season, whereas the Baggies want him on a permanent deal. West Brom and Fulham are both understood to have scouts in Belek, Turkey, where Nurnberg are training during the winter break.
