Highly-rated midfielder Andrew Surman expects to still be a Southampton player when the transfer window closes.
Surman has impressed during his time at St Mary's and has been linked with Premier League duo Fulham and Stoke City.
Reports have claimed that the financial situation on the South Coast could lead to the 22-year-old being sold in January.
However, Surman is happy with the Championship strugglers and is not looking to leave Southampton this month.
"I still expect to be here at the end of January," Surman told the club's official website.
"I've got no plans to leave and as far as I'm concerned I'm still a Southampton player and hopefully that will continue.
"It's all paper talk and you hear a lot of rumours, but I don't read the papers myself."
