Roy Hodgson has told Andy Johnson not to kiss his badge when Fulham take on his former club Everton.
Joey Barton and Wayne Rooney have both been criticised in recent weeks for the action, which could be deemed inflammatory.
The Football Association confirmed that Rooney would not be punished but Hodgson does not want his players to take the chance.
The Cottagers boss insists that Johnson does not need to behave in such a way to show his commitment to the club.
"I'm not a fan of badge kissing," Hodgson said in the Daily Mirror.
"I expect every Fulham player to have nothing but the club in his head.
"He doesn't need to kiss the badge to show that."
