Fulham defender set for temporary switch

Fulham defender Gabriel Zakuani has agreed to join Peterborough on a one-month loan deal. The 22-year-old is currently away on international duty with Congo but Posh boss Darren Ferguson is hopeful he will link up with the League One outfit next week. Zakuani joined Fulham in a £1million move from Leyton Orient in the summer of 2006 but has made just two appearances for the Cottagers. The youngster has previously undertaken two spells on loan at Stoke since moving to Fulham.

Strong

"He's a big, strong player who would fit in perfectly with us," Ferguson told the club's official website. "He's six foot tall but has a fantastic spring and he's a real athlete. "Stoke manager Tony Pulis speaks very highly of him so it would be a great signing for us." Meanwhile, Posh striker Danny Crow has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent. The former Norwich trainee, 23, had slipped behind Aaron McLean, Craig Mackail-Smith and Scott Rendell in the Posh pecking order up front.
