Lawrie Sanchez has revealed that he feels Papa Bouba Diop can have a major say in Fulham's future.
The powerful Senegalese midfielder has proved a key figure for The Cottagers since joining the club in the summer of 2004.
However, he fell out of favour earlier this season and seemed to be on his way out of Craven Cottage.
A transfer during the January transfer window failed to materialise and there has since been a change in management at Fulham.
Sanchez was brought in to replace Chris Coleman and he has been deeply impressed with Diop.
"I've seen Fulham and Diop play over the years," Sanchez said in the Independent.
"He has all the attributes to be a top-class midfielder.
"Physically, ability wise, his engine, his strength - he'll be a major asset for Fulham in the future."
