Fulham midfielder Pape Bouba Diop has reiterated his desire to stay at Craven Cottage and insists he will fight to figure in Chris Coleman's plans.

Diop was set to leave the club during the last transfer window as Fulham had agreed a deal with Wigan for the 6ft 5in Senegal defender.

But the player pulled out of the deal at the last minute and is now determined to fight for a place in Coleman's squad.

"I want to prove myself in the remaining matches this season," Diop told the Daily Star.

"I have been preparing for the Portsmouth game next week. My aim is to get fitter and stronger."
