Chris Coleman took a swipe at referee Peter Walton after his Fulham side slipped to a late defeat to Manchester United.
The Cottagers dominated the contest, but a late strike from Cristiano Ronaldo and volley from Ryan Giggs cancelled out an early goal from Brian McBride as United moved nine points clear of Chelsea.
There was drama in the final minute as Heidar Helguson went down under challenge from Edwin van der Sar and Coleman was convinced his side should have been handed a penalty.
"The referee has no excuses, he was in the perfect position," fumed Coleman.
"There is only one way to put it and that is that he lost his nerve.
"Can anybody disagree with me if I say that if that happened at the other end of the pitch, and it's 1-1, the referee is going to give a penalty?
"It's frustrating to say the least but there is no point talking about it. I will get another fine but nothing will happen to the referee."
