Fulham currently sit 14th in the Premiership table, but are just two points outside the top 10 and meet leaders United on Saturday.
Coleman is keen to see a determined response for the weekend's clash at Craven Cottage and has called for a spirited climax to the season.
"We've got 11 big league games left and we want to make sure we don't crawl over the line," said Coleman. "We want to be sprinting.
"There's nothing like playing a side like Manchester United in front of a full house at the Cottage.
"It's going to be a great game and in the past against United we've done well. We are only two points off 10th and 12 points from the bottom three.
"If we can get three points against United we can stop looking below us and make our push to the top 10."
Meanwhile, Coleman has explained his reasons for omitting Liam Rosenior from the team against Spurs, after the full-back had featured in every game this season.
He added: "Liam has played 27 games this season and not missed a day's training, but he looked tired up at Bolton last week.
"He wasn't covering the ground he usually covers and wasn't getting his passes off. So we decided just to give him a complete rest."
