Leyton Orient have reportedly rejected an offer from London rivals Fulham for centre back Gabriel Zakuani.
Zakuani, who turns 20 next Wednesday, was one of Orient's key players in their successful promotion bid to League One this season, having signed a new deal until the summer of 2008 back in February.
The defender caught the eye of The Cottagers when The O's defeated Fulham in the FA Cup third round in January and the Brisbane Road club are thought to rate Zakuani at around £1 million.
Orient boss Martin Ling confirmed Fulham's interest, but stated his hope at keeping the player from moving across the capital this summer.
"It's true there is some interest from Fulham, but I would love to keep Gaby here," Ling said in The Sun.
"But if there was a substantial offer, there's no way we'd turn it down."
One player to commit himself to the East Londoners is Jabo Ibehre after the striker signed a new contract that takes him through to the summer of 2008.
"I'm delighted that I've signed - it's put my mind at rest," the 23-year-old told the club's official website.
"There weren't really many questions, but with the speculation I just wanted to clear everything up."
