Fulham have confirmed Wayne Bridge sprained his ankle in England's 2-1 friendly win over Uruguay on Wednesday.
Bridge clashed with Spurs keeper Paul Robinson after 30 minutes in the Anfield clash and was stretchered off the field.
It had been feared the knock could be related to the ankle injury that forced him to miss the remainder of last season.
However, Fulham have stated Wednesday's injury is unrelated and that he will play no part in their weekend clash with Arsenal.
"Wayne Bridge sustained a lateral ligament sprain to his right ankle during England's friendly against Uruguay," a statement read on the club's official website.
"The injury sustained is not a reoccurrence of any injury suffered previously.
"He will not be available for this weekend's match against Arsenal at Craven Cottage."
