Fulham boss Chris Coleman has confirmed Zat Knight was dropped at the weekend after breaking a club curfew.

The England hopeful was a noticeable absentee from Fulham's starting line-up against Manchester United on Saturday, with Coleman having now revealed the reason behind his omission.

Knight was caught being out late on Thursday evening, breaking a club rule that has left Coleman incensed with the youngster's ill-discipline.

Coleman admits he is fuming by Knight's discipline, or rather lack of it, confirming a hefty fine has been dished out despite the player's apology.

''He broke a rule, I was not happy and I fined him,'' said Coleman.

''I was adamant that he would not play. Zat overstepped the mark and he has said sorry.

''But I'm still far from happy with him.''
