FRENCH duo Marseille and Lens are both eyeing a possible swoop for Fulham forward Steve Marlet.

The French international striker has been linked with several returns to France before, but it seems as though this interest is serious.

Lens and l'OM are both looking to strengthen their squads before the transfer window closes and see Marlet as their top target.

The 28-year-old has shown some mixed form during his time with The Cottagers, but has broken into the French national side.

Marseille and Lens will now both be trying prise Marlet away from Loftus Road - hoping that he would relish a return to Le Championnat.

Lens are lining-up a swap deal involving giant striker Dagui Bakari, who has interested Manchester United in the past.

Meanwhile, the French duo will also be doing battle for Bordeaux's Camel Meriem, who has had a disappointing first season at Parc Lescure.

Meriem is wanted on loan by both clubs and he will have to decide if he would prefer to move to Stade Velodrome or Stade Bollaert.
