JON HARLEY is making the most of his new lease of life at Fulham, just when it looked as though his time with the West Londoners would be coming to an end.

The English full back impressed during a loan stint at Sheffield United, but was recalled by coach Jean Tigana, and the shock sale of Rufus Brevett to West Ham has ensured things look a lot rosier for the former Chelsea defender.

"I got called back from Sheffield United due to suspensions but I was half expecting to stay up there," he revealed.

"I'm quite happy, at the moment, but I was enjoying it at Sheffield United.

"When I was called back, I thought I'd play one game and then not be involved, but I've been more involved than I expected.

"I didn't see the Rufus Brevett transfer coming at all.

"It was a big surprise.

"Hopefully, I'll get more of a chance and, if I do, I'll just have to grab it."
