FULHAM look set to swoop on Serie A by taking Cameroonian international Pierre Wome to West London.

The 23-year-old has been strongly tipped to make the switch to England this summer and West Ham and Tottenham have both lodged enquiries with Bologna.

Wome is now believed to be in talks with Fulham's director of football Franco Baresi, over the terms of a prospective move.

Fulham have been looking to bolster their left-sided options after looking into the possibility of signing German star Marco Bode.

They have also been linked with a move for Alaves' former Manchester United winger Jordi Cruyff and are believed to have watched him in action over the past week.

However, Wome is emerging as their number one target and a deal could be completed within the next week.

If Wome does arrive, then he will not be eligible for the Intertoto Cup, as his current employers Bologna are also embroiled in the pre-season tournament.
