Knight eager for first team chance

FULHAM defender Zat Knight is hoping to establish himself this season after the club rejected a bid from West Brom for his services.
The Premiership new boys were interested in signing the towering central defender, but the bid was rejected out of hand by the West London outfit.
Knight is highly-regarded within the corridors of Craven Cottage and is tipped for a big future in the game.
The England Under-21 international impressed in last week's Intertoto Cup win over Greek side Egaleo and Knight hopes his performance will be good enough to keep him in the side.
"I need to push on," said Knight. "I'm at the age where I need to play regular first-team football.
"The club rejected a bid from West Brom for me and hopefully that means I will have a chance with the first team this year.
"I think this is my season. The gaffer gave me a chance against Egaleo and I thought I did okay. The opponents weren't the best but it was good for my confidence.
"I'm not unhappy that a bid for me was turned down. The club didn't talk to me.
"They rejected the offer out of hand and it didn't even get as far as me. I know the gaffer likes me so it's up to me to repay his faith."
