Boro linked with Leadbitter switch

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray admits he is already planning for next season, after being linked with Ipswich ace Grant Leadbitter. The former Sunderland midfielder is out-of-contract at Portman Road this summer, and has already told Ipswich he will wait until the end of the season before deciding his future. Now Boro are being linked with a move to take him back to his native North East. Mowbray was asked about Leadbitter but refused to confirm or deny any interest. "I don't think it's a time for me to talk about bringing in specific players," he said. "The squad we have got at the moment has to get on with the job and try and get us into the Premier League. "We've got, I think, eight players out of contract in the summer and some of them we probably won't be able to re-sign because of the financial restraints on the club. "So we are looking everywhere for players who can help us move forward."
