Young Chelsea stopper admits Hamburg move is an option

Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas admits he does not yet know where he will be plying his trade next season but is happy on loan at Vitesse. The 18-year-old Czech joined the Blues from native side Sigma Olomouc in 2010 and was loaned straight back out to his boyhood club. He has spent this season in the Eredivisie with Vitesse, establishing himself as a regular performer for the Dutch outfit. Bundesliga club Hamburg are thought to be interested in taking him on loan next term and Kalas says he has been in touch with Chelsea's former director of football Frank Arnesen, who is now sporting director at the German side. But the defender says that is just one of his options and plans to discuss his future with Chelsea and Vitesse later this month.

Options

"Ideally I'll stay another year at this club," he told Omroep Gelderland. "Simply put, there are three options. I'll stay here, go back to Chelsea or they will loan me to another club abroad. "In late March I will talk with my managers about next season and know more." Asked about a move to Hamburg, Kalas replied: "It could be, I know Frank Arnesen from Chelsea. We've been in contact."
