Doncaster Rovers captain George Friend insists that the club's controversial transfer policy can only bring benefits on the pitch.
Many have criticised Rovers' new transfer policy of bringing in high profile-players either without a club or out of favour with their current employers before allowing them to move on for a profit with sell-on clauses.
Former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires, who is without a club at the moment after being released by Aston Villa at the end of last season, has been recently linked with a move to the Keepmoat Stadium.
Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak, former Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra and West Ham United striker Frederic Piquionne are also said to be on manager Dean Saunders' radar.
The likes of Pascal Chimbonda, Herita Ilunga and El Hadji Diouf have proved their worth since joining the Championship side, with the latter scoring twice in their 3-2 win at Ipswich Town last Saturday.
And defender Friend believes that the arrival of players with experience in the Premier League will only help the Keepmoat Stadium club.
Ambition and drive
"It shows the club's ambition, drive and where ultimately it wants to go in the future," the 24-year-old told
skysports.com.
"If the sort of names that have been linked come in and pull in the same direction as us then it can only benefit the club.
"It is definitely exciting times for this club and hopefully we can match that ambition on the pitch.
"The new lads have bedded in well and they are experienced in the Premier League, so everyone can benefit from that.
"They've all done really well since coming here, so hopefully they can keep it up and we can all pull together to pull the club up the table."
Doncaster are currently at the foot of the Championship standings, having picked up just 12 points from 16 matches.
