Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson is hoping to extend his loan spell with League Two side Plymouth Argyle.

The 18-year-old is due to return to the north east after the Pilgrims' clash with Cheltenham on October 29. Gibson's stay at Home Park has been disrupted by a groin injury but he has still made 10 starts for Carl Fletcher's side in all competitions. He told the Herald: "I'm really enjoying it, and it's something I would like to keep going. "I think we will sit down with Fletch and discuss where we go from here, and we will do what's best for both parties. "But I would love to stay here and carry on my experience, and hopefully help Plymouth climb the table, as we feel like we will do."
