Rangers have stepped up their interest in Arsenal striker Rhys Murphy, skysports.com understands.
Murphy spent last week training with Championship side Middlesbrough, who maintain an interest.
However, skysports.com understands that Murphy travelled north of the border over the weekend and linked up with Rangers.
Murphy is understood to have played for the Gers in a 'Bounce' game against Hamilton on Monday, which ended in a 2-1 win for Ally McCoist's men and also featured German trialist David Odonkor.
Skysports.com revealed last week Rangers were ready to rival Boro for Murphy, and they are now considering making a move after seeing him in action.
