Hartlepool United are casting their eye over two new trialists.
Pools chief Mick Wadsworth already has Leeds youngster Jonny Birbeck training with them.
Now he is casting his eye over Middlesbrough's James Gray and non-league midfielder George Mboa.
Gray looks unlikely to be offered terms by Boro and they are now willing to let him try his luck with their Teesside neighbours.
Gray, who can play in midfield or up-front, is a Northern Ireland youth international and the son of former Sunderland striker Phil.
Mboa is a former Liverpool trainee who signed for Vauxhall Motors from Southport in the summer.
He was on the bench against Hartlepool earlier in the season when they faced Vauxhall.
