Mowbray has regularly rotated his forwards since taking charge at The Riverside to accommodate different game-plans.

Lita and McDonald were given the nod for Saturday's game against Hull City and they both found the target in a 2-2 draw.

Manager Mowbray is now pondering whether to recall Kris Boyd or name an unchanged strike-force for the trip to Coventry at the weekend.

"Players like Leroy make their living out of playing on the shoulders of defenders. It was good to see both him and Scott on the scoresheet," Mowbray told the club's official website.

"I've been talking to Leroy about his positional play, particularly when the opposition have the ball and we are defending. What I like about Leroy is that he looks you in the eye and listens.

"Scott scored too, so he's happy. He worked very hard, as he does every week. If he can give us goals and hard work every game, then what more do you want from your strikers?"
