Northampton boss Ian Sampson is considering bringing Middlesbrough goalkeeper Jason Steele back to Sixfields on injury cover.
Current shot-stopper Chris Dunn has been ruled out for at least 10 days with an ankle injury sustained in training, prompting Sampson to think about recruiting a temporary replacement.
Steele spent time on loan with Cobblers during the second half of last season, and Sampson is hoping to bring in the 19-year-old on a short-term deal, as an extended offer is not financially viable for the club.
"Chris turned his ankle in training and we're possibly looking at him being out for 10 days," Sampson told the Northampton Chronicle.
"He (Steele) would be one we'd be looking at but we're hoping Chris won't be out for too long with his injury.
"It's not a long-term injury he has but if it turns out to be longer than expected then Jason is one of the players we would bear in mind."
