Strachan delighted to capture versatile midfielder

Middlesbrough have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Charlton captain Nicky Bailey. As revealed by skysports.com earlier on Wednesday, the two clubs have been talking for a number of weeks and agreed a deal worth around £1.4million earlier this month. Bailey agreed terms with the club at the start of July, while he also passed a medical, before signing. The 26-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Boro, and becomes their third signing of the summer, and their second this week. Bailey joins fellow new recruits Andrew Halliday and Kris Boyd, who signed for the club after leaving Rangers. Manager Gordon Strachan told Boro's official website: "We're delighted to sign Nicky. He scores goals and all different kinds of goals. "He can play left side of midfield or centre midfield and he's self-motivated. There's also a devil inside him when he plays and you sometimes need that."
