Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate admits he is looking to make progress in contract talks with Ross Turnbull and Brad Jones.
Both goalkeepers are out of contract at the end of the season, but Southgate is keen to keep the duo at the Riverside.
Southgate recently confirmed his intention to speak to Turnbull and Jones, and is now aiming to push the matter forward.
"There's been no further progress, but ideally I'd like them both here," said Southgate in the Sunday Sun. "We feel they're going to be top goalkeepers.
"I think they both realise there's an opportunity here for them.
"They both know that there's no guaranteed No.1 and it's developing into a great battle between them - it's a healthy situation."
Following Mark Schwarzer's summer move to Fulham, Turnbull has started the bulk of Boro's games this season ahead of Jones.
